Speech-led halls generally target a shorter reverberation time than music-led halls, and IS 4954 — the Indian Standard for acoustical design of auditoriums and conference halls — gives recommended RT60 ranges against room volume. The design also has to hold background noise low enough for that reverberation figure to be audible as clarity rather than noise.
