Acoustic and audio-visual design for a provincial legislative chamber. Speech intelligibility across the full member seating was the governing criterion, with reverberation and background noise set for sustained debate rather than performance.
Haut-Katanga Assembly, Republic of Katanga was designed by V. N. Purandare™, independent acoustic and complete auditorium design consultants based in Pune. The appointment covered acoustics & a/v. Room volume, geometry, reverberation time and speech intelligibility are set against the hall’s intended use, with background noise from building services controlled so that the design reverberation figure is heard as clarity.
